Another feather in the cap of Springfielders. Naveen of class VII brought laurels to the country, school and his parents winning the gold medal representing India in the Indo-Nepal Roller skater competition. This competition was held from 20th to 21st November 2021 at D.P.S. Biratnagar, Nepal. In junior category, Naveen participated in 2 events 500m and 1000m and won gold medal in both.
Skaters from India, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal and Gujarat participated in the competition. The competition was organized by Nepal Roller Skates Association. The best performing players in the competition were felicitated with prizes by Rohit Koirala, President, Morang District Sports Association. The winning player Naveen has also been selected for the Malaysia Cup.
School Principal Mr.Rajesh Rai falicitated him on his achievements and wished him for a brighter future. He had a special mention for Naveen’s parents for their support and his coach Mr. Nitin Saini for mentoring. He said that sports is an important aspect of our life. Watching and playing sports provide ways to escape the stress of our daily lives and come together as a community.
