IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICS IN DAILY LIFE
IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICS IN DAILY LIFE
As we all are knowing that there is not even a single activity of our lives which is possible without science. Let me discuss with you few facts of physics. Physics is playing a vital role in everyday life and is involved in a number of activities we perform in our daily life for example walking, cooking cutting, vision and may more activities. All these activities are involve the principles of physics. Asking importance of physics is like importance of nature itself. It is not a question of importance but a question of need. We are tiny living beings but an intelligent life form living in a vast unexplored universe. It is our need to understand it fundamentally and use it to sustain ourselves and make progress.
It is a fair assumption that the majority of physics students, feel that physics is one of the most difficult subject studied in senior school. Physics is the science that attempts to describe how nature works using the language of mathematics. It is often considered the fundamentals of all the natural sciences and its theories attempt to describe the behaviour of the smallest building blocks of matter, light, the universe and everything in between. It is a fascinating subject and one would assume very useful to study.
As students find this subject difficult to study, this subject requires innovative
teaching methodology. To teach physics, teacher must use the demonstration
method. Teaching should involve the concept based instructions. In my opinion physics can be better taught with the help of daily life examples. When students understand the concept with the practical use than this will give us much more learning outputs than any other teaching method. One thing more that is also very much essential that instructions given to the students must be based on their previous knowledge. It is very important to start the lecture after testing the previous knowledge of the students because there is no use of teaching the applications of force until unless the student is not knowing the concept of force.
Let us take an example, if we have to teach the topic-friction, let the student know about the difference between dancing on floor and skating on ice. The difference is of friction as smooth ice provides very little friction against objects, like ice skates. being dragged across its surface. On the other hand floor is providing large friction in comparison to ice. It is due to friction motion is possible as it is not easy to walk on slippery road than to walk on a rough floor. With the conceptual knowledge practical knowledge should also be imparted to the learner. This teaching method sharpen the practical skills of the students leading to a deeper understanding of various concepts by getting the involvement and acquiring the interest of students. Learning by doing method is much more efficient at school level teaching.
Thus, I want to conclude that it is very much essential for the students to know about Physics as it is applicable to each and every part of life. Physics is related to the nature itself. So, everyone must be familiar to this subject.
